Records Database
The Records Database is subscription access to Hekkova's structured archive: the deck-log entries and ship records behind the public ship pages, searchable by ship and date, browsable page by page, each entry linked to its source page in the National Archives catalog.
What the database contains
Deck-log entries transcribed from the original pages and structured for search — dates, watches, positions, events, and the entry text as written. Records pass through Hekkova's quality review before they are served, and their review status is disclosed; a record still in review says so. Every entry cites the National Archives catalog record it came from, so anything found here can be checked against the original.
The archive is at the beginning of its build. Coverage starts with Vietnam-era Essex-class carriers and expands ship by ship; what is in the database at any time is exactly what the ship pages say is held, and no more. The database opens to subscribers once the archive holds enough ships to be worth subscribing to; it is not open yet and no date is set.
Tiers
Tiers are differentiated by use rights and seats, not by withheld features — capability is largely shared, and the price steps pay for the right to use the data commercially and for organizational-scale access.

Who each tier is for: Individual serves the family historian and genealogist reading one veteran's war; Pro serves the historian, author, or attorney whose findings appear in published or litigation work; Institutional serves firms, libraries, and research organizations working at scale. The binding license terms are set by the subscription agreement at signup, not by this page.
Names
Personnel names in the database follow a published visibility policy: names held in command roles are public record at every tier; other names are visible to subscribers within the access-controlled database, and individuals with standing can request removal. The policy exists so the archive serves research without becoming an index of private lives.
